Dealing with Conflict

Conflict can arise when our needs aren’t met and we don’t clearly communicate what we want.

This can lead to friendship breakdowns, isolation and social exclusion.

This workshop teaches students how to effectively manage conflict using a range of CBT strategies.

Key Skills:

  • Identifying the root cause of conflict

  • Clarifying and challenging our assumptions

  • Expressing empathy

Overcoming Procrastination

We all procrastinate completing important tasks from time to time.

Procrastination arises as an avoidance behaviour in response to the feeling of discomfort.

This workshop teaches practical CBT-based strategies to limit the amount students procrastinate and re-focus.

Key Skills:

  • Identifying our avoidant behaviours

  • Removing obstacles in the way of task completion

  • Action planning

The way we talk to ourselves matters.

Unfortunately, a student’s inner dialogue can often be quite negative and self-critical.

This workshop draws on Compassion Focused Therapy to teach students how to be more compassionate towards themselves.

Key Skills:

  • Noticing and challenging self-critical thoughts

  • Replacing self-critical thoughts with self-compassion

  • Empathy
