Thinking Traps
Drawn from: Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
Early adolescence is prime time for catastrophising thinking and worst-case scenarios.
This session helps students spot unhelpful thoughts before they spiral and teaches techniques for realistic, flexible thinking.
📌 Why it works: CBT tools help students develop metacognition — the ability to think about their thinking — a key skill for both learning and wellbeing.
Students will learn to:
✔️ Identify anxious or distorted thoughts
✔️ Challenge this type of thinking
✔️ Reframe their thoughts
